GATE 2021 Result Analysis
The GATE Exam was conducted a few weeks back & now things have finally caught pace & are falling in place. The mini-break has ended with IIT Bombay releasing the official answer key of all 27 papers for GATE 2021 on the 26’th of February 2021 on their official website.
The release of the GATE answer key gives the candidates a chance to calculate their probable scores & rank. The window for objecting to the provisional answer key will open from March 2, 2021, to March 4, 2021. Candidates will have to pay Rs. 500 & provide valid documents to support their objections, should they wish to do so. After considering all such objections, the final answer key will be released on March 18, 2021, by IIT Bombay.
How to perform Result Analysis
1. Download GATE 2021 Response Sheet
GATE 2021 response sheet is an online document of an individual candidate’s marked answers on the day of the exam. The response sheet for GATE 2021 was released on February 18, 2021, by IIT Bombay.

- Download GATE Response sheet PDF.
2. Download GATE 2021 Answer Key
As mentioned above, the candidate can download the GATE 2021 Answer Key follow this link – [Gate.iitb.ac.in]
3. Calculate GATE 2021 Probable Score
Candidates can now calculate their probable score by comparing their answers in the response sheet with the GATE 2021 answer key. The candidate must use the marking scheme as prescribed in the GATE 2021 Exam Pattern. Although probable scores are not official & should not be entirely relied on, the candidate can get a good idea of their final score which will be calculated only after normalization.
Steps to calculate GATE 2021 Probable Score:
- Calculate the total number of correct attempts & assign marks accordingly.
- Calculate total marks from all correct attempts.
- Calculate total negative marks for all incorrect attempts.
(Note that there is no negative marking for NAT questions in GATE 2021) - Calculate total probable score by using total positive & total negative marks.
The final answer key will be updated in this blog post itself when it is released on March 18, 2021. The final GATE 2021 result is expected to be live on March 22, 2021. Watch this space for updates regarding GATE 2021.
