What is the eligibility criteria for AIEEE ?
The aspiring candidate must have passed the final examination of 10+2 system or its equivalent. Those appearing for the 10+2 final examination or equivalent examination may also take the AIEEE, for consideration of provisional admission.
Are the question papers of the AIEEE and Std.XII similar ?
The nature of the AIEEE question papers is totally different from that of the Board. Every question is of a very searching type, and based on fundamentals. The questions tests the student's academic ability, analytical ability and approach in various aspects of the subject. Accuracy alongwith speed are the critical aspects of this exam. Board's papers of Std. XII are very straight forward like those of Std. X.
Is the portion of the AIEEE same as that of Std.XI & XII ?
There are only three subjects in AIEEE for Engineering : Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
The AIEEE covers almost all the topics of Std.XI and Std.XII (Maharashtra State Board) and few more topics of higher level as well as some of even Std.X.
Can one prepare for both AIEEE & Maharashtra Engineering Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) ?
As is well known, the AIEEE is one of the difficult entrance examinations held in the country.
The syllabus of AIEEE is very similar to the Std. XI and XII syllabus. The syllabus of MHT-CET is exactly identical to that of the Std.XII Board Exam. As mentioned earlier, the AIEEE also covers the syllabus of Std.XII .
Therefore, preparing for AIEEE will not only help students to tackle the AIEEE successfully, but will also help them to prepare better and more effectively for other MHT-CET.
In fact, one of our students Chetan Lalwani, not only cleared the IIT JEE and AIEEE successfully, but also secured the highest score in entire Maharashtra, at the MHT-CET.
Will preparation for the AIEEE & MHT-CET disturb the Std.XII studies ?
As mentioned above, the syllabus of the AIEEE also covers the syllabus of Std.XII. Therefore preparation for the AIEEE and MHT-CET will not disturb the Std.XII studies. In fact for preparing for exams like AIEEE & MHT-CET creates a strong conceptual base which helps the student in the preparation for Std. XII exam.
What is the right time to start preparation for the AIEEE & MHT-CET ?
The AIEEE consists of almost all the topics of Std.XI and Std.XII and a few more topics of a higher level as well as Std.X. As mentioned earlier, the nature of the questions set in the AIEEE papers is entirely different from that of the Board Exam of Std.X or XII. Questions asked in the AIEEE papers are of a searching nature and based on fundamental concepts. The problems set in the AIEEE can be tackled only by those who have acquired a clear understanding of the basic concepts and speed through sufficient practice of handling such problems. Hence, the preparation for the AIEEE has to be a gradual and well planned study, properly coordinated with that of Std.XI and XII.
What is the importance of AIEEE in Engineering Admissions in Maharashtra ?
85% of the seats in private Degree engineering Colleges in Maharashtra are filled on the basis of MHT-CET and remaining 15% seats are filled on the basis of the AIEEE.
Thus students appearing for AIEEEin addition to MHT-CET can apply for the entire 100% (85%+15%) of Engineering Seats and thereby maximize their chances of getting a better Engineering Seat in a better Engineering College in Maharashtra as well.
