1 (a). Should I study for Management Entrance Tests while still graduating ?
One should appear for the entrance
tests in the pre-final year itself particularly for engineering candidates as
during the final
year students also need to spend time on their projects. It
enlightens you with areas where you lack. Those can be improved
in the subsequent year for better results.
1 (b). What is the
difference between MBA and MMS ?
MMS stands for Master’s in
Management Studies. Both are equivalents. However these are just the names given
by different
Universities.
2. Is an MMS Program better
than PGDBA ?
It is the institute that matters. A PGP from a top ranking Institute like IIM is better than a MMS.
3. Is job experience
required before going for MBA Courses ?
It is preferable if you have an
experience, but, not necessary

6. What is CET ?
Common Entrance Test is conducted by
Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admissions in management colleges
in Maharashtra.
7. What is the
structure of CET ?
There is no fixed structure for CET.
Its questions are randomly based on the following areas :
Quantitative Analysis, Verbal
Ability, Visual Reasoning, Data Interpretation / Data Sufficiency.

What is the selection process for the CET ?
It is a three stage process
consisting of
Stage I : Paper based objective test
of 200 marks
Stage II : Group Discussion (GD)
Stage III : Personal Interview (PI)
8 (b). What are
the fees of a B-School ?
The Fee structure for colleges
in Maharashtra is finalized by the “Shikshan Shulk Samiti” as far as colleges in
Maharashtra
are concerned whose admissions are through CET. (For more
information, refer
www.dte.org.in/mba) For the other colleges
like IIMs,
and private colleges the fee structure is decided by the individual colleges.

It helps in understanding you as a
person, gauge how well you will fit in their institute and function as a team

I prepare for the GD / PI ?

11(a). If I
prepare for CAT, should I prepare separately for CET ?
CAT is a much tougher exam. The
syllabus for both are similar, However the Visual Reasoning section in CET is
additional
as the structure for the 2 exams is different, one needs to take the
test available in the market for both these exams
independently. This needs to
be practiced.
11(b). What is the
admission procedures after the result ?
There are 2 steps after the results.
One is the Group Discussion and the other is Personal Interview. As far as CAT
is
concerned, you are called for both these stages only if your CAT Test score
is good. However, for CET, you have to go
through the stages of GD / PI
irrespective of your CET test score. Once you clear this, you fill up an option
form specifying
colleges of your preference. Based on your merit, you will be
allotted a college suitably. CET adopts the Centralized
Admission Process ( CAP)

should I prepare ?
The students should start off with
clarifying the relevant concepts in specific areas. They should learn how to
apply the
concepts . Also time management skills should be practiced. One
should also solve more question papers to achieve
accuracy & speed.
