Selection Procedure

 

Common Entrance Test  (CET)

The examination is conducted by Directorate Of Technical Education; Maharashtra.The scores are accepted only by B-Schools in Maharashtra. This is a centralized admission process

CET is designed to test the propensity of the applicant towards managerial tasks with speed and accuracy. Solving maximum number of correct questions in a given timeframe is important.
Theoretically, the Entrance Process evaluates students in the broad areas of:


v
Leadership Qualities

v Managerial Abilities

v Administrative Capabilities

v Team Management

v Risk Management

In practice, the tests also provide a clear indication of a student’s decision making abilities, time management skills, reasoning abilities, crisis management skills and so on.   

Eligibility for appearing in CET

A 3 year bachelor's degree or an equivalent in any discipline recognized by any Indian University / AICTE is eligible for post-graduate studies. Students in final year of graduation can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed provisional admission with the condition that the mark sheet and a certificate of passing is produced before certain specified date.

Stage I      :  Common Entrance Test (CET) – Paper Based Objective Test

Stage II
    :  Group Discussion

Stage III
   :  Personal Interview

 

Stage I

Common Entrance Test (CET)

This is a paper based exam.

The written test is of 2.5 hrs comprising of 200 marks.  The question paper has to be submitted back to the examiner by the candidate.  It is divided in the following areas:

v Verbal Reasoning                -   Approx. 35 marks

v Quantitative Reasoning        -  Approx. 50 marks

v Logical Reasoning               -  Approx. 50 marks

v Visual Reasoning                 -  Approx 30 marks

v Data Interpreatation             -  Approx 20 marks

and Data Sufficiency

NOTE :

●      It must be noted that the CET is not divided into any sections. All the questions are
        spread across the entire paper randomly.

●      Work Experience and Academic Scores are also considered in CET selection process.

 

Stage II

Group Discussion

After the CET exam, all candidates have to appear for Group Discussion. The Group Discussion is essentially used as pointer to assess the students in the following areas:
Communication skills, Clarity of thought, Leadership quality - Initiator, Co-coordinator, Motivation, Summarizer, Team Player, Inter-personal behavior.

 

Stage III

Personal Interview

This is the final stage, where panels of Experts interview the candidate individually and grade them based on their personality, common sense and presence of mind.

Note :

CET (Paper Based Test score) score is accepted by the private management colleges and they invite candidates for GD/PI later.
