What is Management Education?

Management, today, has evolved as a special stream of structured education, and training. It is multidimensional in
nature, applicable to every walk of life. New techniques, and new tools, are discovered and invented. The older,
earlier tools and techniques are adapted to modern thought process. New operational fields get identified and most
business organizations, big and small, have become aware of this today.

Thus, such, all comprehensive management education, has a positive impact on operations. It enables improvement
in productivity and profitability, simultaneously enhancing efficiency in every business and wherever else applied.

The individual business organization benefits but simultaneously it contributes to the economy of the nation, and
further to the global economy as a whole.

The most popular streams in management education are  marketing , finance , human resource development , sales
etc…

Naturally Business Schools are coveted institutes, and they hold a rigorous qualifying Entrance Exams for candidates
before they admit them.  Some of these exams are

3.   Joint Management Entrance Test for Management

      Education through the IITs                                               JMET

4.   Management Aptitude Test                                                MAT

5.   Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies                   NMAT

These exams are conducted in three stages

1)   A Written Test

2)   Group Discussion (GD)

3)   Personal Interview (PI)
 

For the written test, a candidate is assessed for

1)   Verbal skills

2)   Analytical skills

3)   Quantitative skills

For a Group Discussion, approximately eight to twelve candidates are invited.  They are given a topic for discussion. The candidate is judged for his/her leadership quality, communication skill, interpersonal relationship, behavior, confidence, Contribution of Ideas, Sensitivity etc…. by a panel of judges for about 20 mins to 30 mins.

Personal Interview is the final qualifying exam. that will lead the candidate to the  Business School.

It is important that the students start preparations at the right time. Then alone can they be confident of acquiring their determined goals.
